Catskill Art Space (CAS)

Commercial gut and remodel of an extremely old factory building nearing construction completion in Livingston Manor, NY. We added an elevator, roof, siding, sprinklers, and HVAC. We had the pleasure to work closely with Bade Stageberg Cox, an architecture firm based in Brooklyn, NY. Catskill Art Space (CAS) is a nonprofit organization that brings contemporary art experiences to the Catskills and facilitates creative and professional development for established and emerging artists.

CAS inaugurates its second-floor exhibition space with a multi-year presentation of James Turrell’s Avaar from 1976. Turrell is an iconic figure in contemporary art who describes his medium as light and space. Avaar is an immersive, room-sized installation that explores Turrell’s ideas about light, the act of perception, and the physical awareness of both space and place.
